Brandon Wildlife Association is gearing up for the 2024 Big Buck Awards!
This year’s event will take place at the Keystone Centre in the Manitoba Room. Please enter via the main ramp, east doors of the Manitoba room are for load in/load out ONLY.
Admission into the event remains the same at $10 for the day.
Head’s can be brought in for early scoring starting at 11AM. The doors to the event will open at 1PM.
We will have several draws happening throughout the afternoon including 50/50, ladies rifle draw, junior rifle draw, card draws and live/silent auction as well.
BWA is happy to have a local partnership with Jason Splett who is a certified scorer for Boone and Crockett, Pope and Young, MBGTA (Manitoba Big Game Trophy Association) and MBRC (Manitoba Bowhunting Records Club). Detailed scoring inquiries can be directed to Jason at 204-724-2975.
Big Buck Awards Rules
- Only Whitetail and Mule deer entries will be scored for trophies.
- All entries must be legally tagged with a current year tag issued by the Manitoba Provincial government.
- Entries taken under authority of First Nations treaty or Metis hunting rights must display a current provincial issued tag.
- Legally harvested, but untagged animals may be entered to be scored, but are not eligible for trophy awards.
- Only one entry per person.
- To enter the junior category, the hunter must have met the criteria that would allow them to buy a Youth license in Manitoba.
- Only female hunters are eligible to enter the “Ladies” category.
- To be entered into the rifle, muzzleloader, or archery category, animals must have been taken within the current 2024 year season dates, and with the appropriate legal equipment.
