The Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs send a big congratulations to Zerick Dysart-Waterman for an incredible performance at the 2023 NAIG Rifle Shooting events! He secured the gold medal in all three categories – 3 Position, Prone, and Overall – showcasing exceptional talent and dedication.
Facing tough conditions at the Bedford Rifle Range, Zerick’s top scores of 931 (3 Position) and 507 (Prone) led him to a remarkable combined total of 1438 in the Overall category, making him the Games’ overall best shooter.
With 120 total shots in the challenging 3P category and 60 shots in Prone, Zerick demonstrated unwavering focus and discipline throughout the week. His commitment to safety and sportsmanship on the range didn’t go unnoticed by range officers either.
Zerick is from Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation (NCN) with roots in O-Pipon-Na-Piwin Cree Nation (OPCN), and he expresses heartfelt gratitude to his club coaches in Brandon and all friends & family across Turtle Island for their unwavering support on his journey to NAIG in Halifax.
